Singaporean artist Lee Wen, as the Yellow Man, walked the streets of Brisbane; Indonesian artist Dadang Christanto's installation Api di bulan Mei 1998 (Fire in May 1998) involved the burning of 47 papier– mache figures, symbolising the artist's deep empathy for human suffering; one of Australia's leading contemporary music ensembles ELISION worked with visual artists to present a series of off-site p_ertormances including Sonorous Bodies, Transmisi and Inferno, all complementing APT3. Pacific artists Michel Tuffery and Patrice Kaikilekofe worked closely with the local Samoan and Indigenous Australian communities and dancers from Futuna Island to present Povi tau vaga /The challenge).
