Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, 1993 : Exhibition report

Australian and international magazines and newspapers including: Bulletin; Asian Art News; Eastern Art Report; Art and Asia Pacific and Periphery. The exhibition received reviews in fifteen Australian magazines including The Bulletin, Eyeline, Photofile, World Art, Art and Text, Art Monthly, Agenda, Broadsheet, FAR, Tomodachi, Artfan, and Art and Asia-Pacific. Major reviews of the exhibition were carried in several international magazines including Asian Art News, Art New Zealand, Art Record in Thailand and Image and by Jim Supangkat in Tempo (Indonesia), and a review by T.K. Sabapathy in the Strait Times (Singapore). An indication of the breadth of coverage is given by the number of articles received from overseas newspapers. The Gallery has so far received 6 articles from newspapers in Indonesia; 14 articles from Malaysia; 1 article from Papua New Guinea; 4 articles from the Philippines; 6 articles from Vietnam; 1 article from London’ 2 articles from Japan; 1 article from Singapore; 1 article from Thailand and 1 article from Taiwan. The exhibition attracted a number of articles in newspapers throughout the region including a major series by Redza Piyadasa in The Business Times newspaper in Malaysia; an article by Apinan Poshyananda in the Bangkok Post; an article by Shigeo Toya in the Mainichi Shimbun; and an article by Alan Goodall in the Japan Times. Other articles have been received from newspapers in Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and The Art Newspaper in London. Articles and reviews appeared in The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail, The Australian, The Canberra Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, The West Australian and The Advertiser as well as local Brisbane publications such as the Brisbane Review, The Weekend Independent, The Southern Cross Times and The Brisbane Weekend Times.
