11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art
It is my pleasure to welcome visitors to ‘The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). From its first edition in 1993, the Asia Pacific Triennial has staked its claim as a vital part of Brisbane’s cultural scene and built a gateway through which audiences can experience the artistic expression of the wider Asia Pacific region to which we belong. Brisbane is known as a lively city with a thriving arts and culture scene, making it the perfect destination for this event. The Queensland Government is proud to support QAGOMA in bringing the most compelling artistic voices from our part of the world to our city for this Triennial through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Major Events funding program. The Asia Pacific Triennial contributes towards Queensland’s $850-million events calendar for 2024, highlighting our state’s reputation as a destination for significant cultural experiences, wonderful entertainment and beautiful natural landscapes. If you are visiting for the event, welcome, and I encourage you to make the most of your stay in beautiful Queensland.
