This was attended by artists, conference delegates and speakers, local artists, and arts industry representatives. • Coverage on the Qantas inflight entertainment program. • A video media release, which was distributed to Australia Television. • A briefing for foreign correspondents at the DFAT International Media Centre in Sydney. • A briefing for arts organisations and media prior to the media preview. • A briefing for 1O media representatives from Singapore. • Coverage of the Second Triennial by two television arts programs, Stretton on Saturday and Review. • Briefings for a group of Filipino media representatives and a group of Korean tourism academics. • Personal briefings for media representatives in Sydney. A broad range of media releases were distributed during the exhibition, covering issues such as the conference, the opening, artist performances, entertainment, the film program, gunpowder explosion event, and the Flying Arts program. Media coverage and reviews on the Second Triennial were unprecedented in their breadth and positive support. The exhibition and gunpowder explosion event were featured in numerous art magazines, general newspapers and magazines, and radio and television segments. International coverage was also coordinated in countries including Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, India, France, New Zealand, Torres Strait Island, and the United States of America. 20
