The Second Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane, Australia, 1996 : Report

Yet again the Gallery has done a fantastic job collecting and displaying such wonderful works. Best in Australia! This is my thi rd visit to the Asia-Pacific exhibition . Great work! Very cynical. was surprised how some of the works made me 'thi nk', chang i ng perceptions. Bravo political-social-environmental works. It is spectacular to build a bridge between the cultu res of the Pacific-Asia region Will Having lived in Thailand and Singapore myself I found it wonderful that finally the re was an exhibition I could truly relate to. Brilliant and poignant. Thank you . I came here with my school, A.B. Paterson College, and I received a shock as I thought the exhibit was going to be boring, classical pieces of art. I was wrong , 'Blinded by the Light' was my favourite exhibit. This exhibit was an enjoyment to me and my friends. The gallery made it really enjoyable! Thanks ! ! Kaela Gray Beautiful Mi racle stuff. Kky l rawan, I ndonesia We found your current exhibition most enthralling and an inspiring experience. Our favou rite pieces were ' She was married at fourteen and had fourteen children' and the ant project. The whole exhibition was thoughtful ly layed out providing easy, spacious and imaginative access to all the pieces. Overall , we enjoyed the experience and will recommend it to all our peers. AHS I am visiting your gallery from the UK and I am very impressed by the gall ery as a whole and particularly by the Triennial Contemporary art exhibition. It is some of the most exiting work that I have seen for many years and is much fresher and alive than anything I have seen in the UK. Totally brilliant. Margaret Machley, Cambridge, UK Coming from regional Australia (Cairns) , the stimulation and excitement was absol utely fabulous. All regional artists should be given annual air tickets to visit the Queensland Art Gallery to keep us inspired. 30
