Third Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, 1999 : Beyond the future : Report.

COMMERCIAL SERVICES During APT3, the Gallery provided a range of commercial services that enhanced the level of enjoyment for visitors in order to provide a "total experience" for Gallery visitors . GALLERY STORE + APT MERCHANDISE The Gallery Store supported the exh ibition through the development of a range of APT3 merchandise and stocked items from the Asia-Pacific region incl ud ing specific items (catalogues and products) suppl ied by participating artists . The APT merchandise incl uded the APT3 catalogue, wh ich featured 1 1 7 comm issioned essays by 85 international and Australian writers . The full-colour publ ication reflected the breadth and dynamism of contemporary art in the region and in itiates a sincere d ialogue on cross-cultural exchange. A range of merchandise for younger aud iences was available including: • Education Resource Kit • the Kids' Activity Booklet • stickers • mouse-pads • posters • notebooks • t-sh irts . The Gallery also stocked catalogues from APT1 and APT2 , conference papers , documentary APT films on video, and a special ist range of contemporary Asia-Pacific art publications. The publ ication 'Beyond the Future: The Third Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art' was available du ring the exh ibition for AUD$35 and after the exhibition for AUD$45 plus postage & handling. The number of catalogues sold through the Gallery Store up to 26 April 2000 was 2 , 556 . A variety of choices were offered, inspired by the Asia-Pacific, and artwork from the Triennial was also located in the Bistro as fol lows : • Mella JAARSMA • Durriya KAZI and David ALESWORTH A range of corporate functions and private viewing were also held in the Gallery du ring APT3 as companies entertained clients and staff.
