APT 2002 Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane, Australia : Report

OPENING EVENTS Song Dong, Writing time with water , Artist Performance, QAG Forecourt, 12 September, 2002 OVERVIEW Public Programs for the opening events ran from Friday 13 – Sunday 15 September and were scheduled between 10.00am and 5.00pm. The Gallery was open until 6.30pm throughout this period. Artist Talks were held in the relevant Gallery spaces during the morning sessions. Triennial Talks by Gallery staff were scheduled over the lunch period. Performances, keynote lectures and Panel discussions ran throughout the afternoon sessions. A total of 3 137 people attended the APT 2002 Opening Event public programs. ARTIST TALKS Each artist who attended the opening events was invited to give an artist talk as part of the opening events. Due to the enormous public interest in APT artist talks, these were scheduled twice throughout the program. Approximately 1386 visitors attended the artist talks, with each session averaging about 80 people. All artist talks were videoed for research purposes.
