Given that the opening of the APT 2002 project attracted a number of colleagues from a broad range of national and international museums and organisations and also independent professionals, the Forum offered an opportunity to address issues and open discussion with these individuals, including a number of QAG staff in a day dedicated to conversation and information. DATE: Monday, 16 September, 2002 TIME: 9.00am - 4.30pm VENUE: QAG Lecture Theatre FORMAT: Three themes will be addressed throughout the day with ample time for discussion after each session. The sessions will be one hour long and an additional thirty minutes of general discussion time will be allowed. These focused sessions will concentrate on specific topics and are intended as triggers for open dialogue rather than formal or restrictive structures. The themes suggested are deliberately broad. They are intended to draw out a range of ideas, perspectives and experiences from individuals working in these areas. 65 invited national and international participants attended AREAS FOR DISCUSSION: The three issues proposed for discussion are: • What are the significant innovations /directions in international recurring exhibitions? • What strategies are driving the communication of contemporary art?
