Curators and education staff develop and deliver a range of exhibitions and public programs exploring the unique culture and character of the Sunshine Coast. ‘Our volunteers monitored the activity stations and thoroughly enjoyed observing the delight and engagement of the children (and adults) participating. We really appreciate the opportunity to be involved in the regional touring programs and enjoy hosting them and the associated activities. And we greatly look forward to participating again in the future.’ ‘We were extremely happy with the program and the contextual material — it helped us to convey the artists’ intent and transform the space.’ Clockwise: Children working through the Draw, Make, Create: APT8 Kids activity booklet / A child participating in Venkat Raman Singh Shyam The Woman and the Parrot 2015 project / Image courtesy: Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery ‘The attendance exceeded expectations with many people coming back over the course of the program. We also noticed intergenerational groups participating — grandparents, parents and children engaging with each activity. The adults had just as much fun as the kids.’ ‘We saw many familiar faces, but we also met equally as many new people. All the activities have been really popular with many people commenting, “We will be back”, so that their children can try all the activities. Kids have come from around the region and further afield instead of only from Toowoomba city and several have made repeat trips.’
