35 APT8 KIDS ARTWORKS AND PROJECTS 34 APT8 KIDS ARTWORKS AND PROJECTS LAWRENCE ENGLISH EVERYDAY WHISPERS 2015 Lawrence English is interested in sound, especially sound that may be difficult to hear. He creates artworks using a variety of techniques incorporating sound, installation and audiovisual projections. Through his practice, he encourages people to listen in different ways. For APT8 Kids, English asked young visitors to think of a wish and enter a booth to record their wish in a whisper. Over the course of APT8, wishes were collected and projected through a ‘whisper cloud’ suspended from the ceiling of the GOMA River Room. As visitors walked beneath the speakers, the whispers formed a ‘rain of wishes’.
