65 APT8 KIDS PUBLISHING 64 APT8 KIDS PUBLISHING In Draw, Make and Create: APT8 Kids , the ninth book published by the Children’s Art Centre, ten exhibiting artists shared their ideas about what inspires them to make art. The artists created a number of engaging, contemplative and playful art-making activities with a focus on drawing, which children could complete at home or at school. Activities included drawing and dancing at the same time with New Zealand Artist Angela Tiatia, discovering the Madhubani drawing style with Indian artist Pushpa Kumura, and creating a personalised robotic lion by following step-by-step instructions from Mongolian artist Gerelkhuu Ganbold. The publication has been awarded a Silver Medal in the 2016 IPPY Awards (Independent Publisher Book Awards, United States) in the category of Children’s Interactive. I love the trees and the road , the neighbours and the sea nearby. I use a chinese brush and ink for drawing. Sometimes I make my own ink by grinding an ink stick with a little water. It is made by simmering meat, fish or vegetables in water with herbs. Just like Bouillon soup, which is made from different ingredients, our group is made up of different people working together, and our art is about lots of different ideas. We made the Bouillon soup and invited guests to share our meal.
