CURATOR .L & SU PORT 5ERV1 ES PROGRAM A new collection of contemporary H i r s t , Brian Aboriginal textiles was established A u s t r a l i a b . 1 9 5 6 V o t i v e 7/92 this year and printed examples by ( f r o m 'Object a n d image' series) 1992 Bronwyn Bancroft, Demetrius Saunders, Tiwi Designs, Joyce Watson and a Utopia batik by Edie Kemarre have been acquired. A group of four pieces by Queensland's most significant contemporary jeweller, Barbara Heath, was acquired. CONSERVATION The travelling exhibition 'The Trout Collection in Profile: Chevalier to Nolan' has widened Conservation's involvement with Regional Services and regional galleries in Queensland. Preparations / included some major ref raming, conservation treatment, and documenting all travelling works of art. Conservators travelled to each exhibition venue to monitor the condition of works before and after display, and advised Education, Regional Services and regional galleries staff of specific handling and environmental requirements. Queensland Art Gallery Contract Conservation Services ceased functioning in November. However, work will continue at the Gallery in treating works for the Sculpture Courtyard. The treatment of Anthony Caro's Unison 1981-82 is ongoing and Emilio Greco's Bather No.1 1956 will also be treated. For a project outside the Gallery, sculptures of T. J. Ryan and Queen Victoria were moved from the Casino site. Ongoing conservation of these sculptures Chelsea Porcelain Works (Chelsea-Derby) (manufacturer) will occur in conjunction with the E n g l a n d 1769-84 Queensland Art Gallery and Boucher, François (artist) International Conservation Services.
