Gallery publications also received support, with Macmillan Publishers Australia sponsoring the production of Emily Kame Kngwarreye - Alhalkere - Paintings from Utopia, and the Gordon Darling Foundation sponsoring Brought to Light. Mr Francesco Conz gifted fifty-two works to the Gallery, Mrs Barbara Blackman, Miss Betty Quelhurst and Miss Noela Shepherdson each gifted works, Ms Edite Vitins presented the Gallery with the 'Volatile Alliances' portfolio, and Mr James Mollison AO gifted twelve works by Fred Williams. Queensland Art Gallery Society During 1997-98, Society members were offered a diverse range of functions including the 1997 Christmas Party, Sotheby's viewing and appraisal day, and a special viewing of 'The Golden Age of Dutch Art'. The Society's 1997 Gertrude Langer Lecture was presented by celebrated Australian artist, Tim Starrier. Many members of the business community provided much– appreciated support, including Art Land lndooroopilly, The Grape Management Group, Lennons Hotel, BRL Hardy Limited, Yellowglen, Conrad International Treasury Casino, and Mitchell Ogilvie. During the year, the Society also worked with other organisations, such as Sotheby's Australia and the English Speaking Union, to present activities for its members.
