Architect Robin Gibson, 52, won the Sir Zelman Cowen Award, Aus• tralia's highest architectural recogni– tion, for his design of the Queensland ~ • -l'--1\rt Gl!!!.m.._ · The judges said Gibson's design · "SU<:ccs.ifully resolves the connict in• herent in art gallery and museum de• sign - the battle between the art of the architecture and the art of the ex• hibits." The Lachlan Macquarie Award for the best resto;·– ation project in the country went_ to the 19th~entury Lands Offtce in Moree, northern NSW. Agovernment architect.
