Since It was launched last December, the foundation has raised more than $2 million, In which Is Included a 50 percent State Government subsidy. Queensland already has a creditable collection, but this could not be regarded as sufficient by any means. Art collecting must be a continuing process - If only to ensure that as wide as possible spectrum of talent, both Australian and overseas, la represented In what should be the ·most Important public collection. When the Cultural Centre, which In– cludes the Gallei:y, Is finished, Queens– land will have a magnificent venue for display of the State's ar't treasures. The collection then should be seen by as many people as posslble, · lncludlng vlsltor,s for the 1982 Commonwealth Games.
