These have all been brought together in this week long activity jointly sponsored by the -Swedish Embassy, Trade Commission and Chamber. of Commerce in Australia to foster closer understanding and trade opportunities petween our two countries. The following programme of events has been prepared with the co-operation of many Queensland organisations to which the general public is invited. SWEDEN .SALUTES QUEENSLAND 22nd-28th June: - An outstanding Exhibition of paintings by Swedish born artist Leif Nilsson at the Brisbane Community Arts Centre, 109 Edward Street. 23rd-28th June: - A "Swedish Stamp Collection and Stamp Making" exhibit in the Main Hall of the G.P .0 ., Queen Street. 23rd-28th June: - A brilliant Swedish film "Autumn Sonata" by famous Director, lngmar Bergman featuring Ingrid Bergman will be screened at the University of Queensla'nd Schonell Theatre. 24th June-Sth July: - " Contemporary Swedish Printmakers 1979" and short films on Swedish art at the Queensland Art _Gallery, M.1.M. Building, 160 Ann Street. 26th-28 June: - · Trade Exhibition of Swedish made products by 41 Companies at the Crest International Hotel, Ann Street. Thursday 26th... 10.00 a.m. to 6 .00 p.m. Friday 27th.... .... 10.00 a.m. to 9 .00 p.m. Saturday 28th.... 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. This absorbing exhibit will be aupported by II continuous multi-11i1ion 1creenlng of "Th• Sw11di1h Experience" and "Advantage Swadan" filma. Saturday, 28th June: A colorful Swedish midsummer dancing exhibition around a Maypole will be held in King George Square from 11 .30 a.m. At noon winners of the quiz competition prizes will be announc~d. Saturday Rocklea · Trotting Meeting: The Brisbane Metropolitan Trotting Club will sponsor a race meeting at Rockies Showgrounds with Swedish prizes to event winners.
