Muir). 1111111111111111111111111111 1111111111111111111111111111 ART TRAIN MISSION TAKING CULTURE TO OUTBACK QUEENSLAND'S Jubilee Art Train would extend city prerogatives to the country, the Premier (Mr. Hanlon) said yesterday. When lie officially opened the Art Train at Roma Street Station, before about 200 people, Mr. Hanlon said an important step had been taken toward the cultural de- velopment of Queensland's outback areas. The Art Train will leave Brisbane on March 27 for an eight months' tour of more than 100 country centres. Big collection The train, which has been designed as a mobile art gal- lery, will carry 51 selected paintings from the Queens- land National Art Gallery, about 80 photographs by pro- fessional and amateur photo- graphers, and a model chil- dren's library of more than 2000 books. The opening ceremony was attended by three Federal Ministers-Senators O'Sulli- van (Trade and Customs), and Cooper (Repatriation), and Mr. Francis (Navy and Army)-and most State Min- isters. Before it leaves for its Queensland tour, the Art Train will be open to the public at No. 7 platform, Cen- tral Station, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Good Fri- day, when it will be closed all day, and on Easter Sun- day, when the hours will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
