It closed five days ago and will remain closed until August 1. By the time it reopens to the public the trustees ex- pect to have the gallery- EQUIPPED with fluor- escent lighting, which, with the aid of special reflectors, will throw a maximum amount of light on to the pictures. DIVIDED into bays, in which pictures of various types will be systematically arranged. PAINTED a salmon pink shade, which will have a har- monious effect with the lighting. The entrance and entrance porch are to be redecorated, and the entrance floor will be covered with rubber mat- ting. A new low ceiling with special lining will be intro- duced. The whole work is expected to cost £4000.
