THE ARCHIBALD PRIZE In terms of the Bequest of the late J.F. Archibald, the Trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales in- vite artists to submit paintings in competition for the above annual prize which will be awarded to the best portrait "preferentially of some man or woman iis- tinguished in Art, Letters, Science or PolitioApaint- ed by any artist resident in Australasia during the twelve months preceding the date fixed by the Trustees for sending in the entries. Portraits should be paint- ed from life and may be of any size. THE WYNNE PRIZE In terms of the Bequest of the late Richard Wynne of Mount Wilson, the Trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales invite artists to submit works for the best landscape painting of Australian scenery in oils or water-colours or for the best example of figure sculpture by Australian artists completed during the twelve months preceding the date fixed by the Trustoon for sending in the entries. THE SIR JOHN SULMAN PRIZE This Prize is awarded annually and varies from year to year at the discretion of the Trustees, covering designs for intended mural decoration, subject paint- ings and genre paintings. Subject painting has been selected for 1960. Paintings must not be less in size than 30" x 24" and must be in oil colours. All works must be delivered to the Gallery on or before Saturday, December 31st, 1960. No works will be accepted unless accompanied by an entry form which should be filled in by the competitor and accompany each work entered. Entry forms are obtainable from the Gallery.
