Following the performance of a cleansing ritual on the seventh day, the terracotta is set, using a traditional firing technique, and glazed with natural resin. SINGAPORE S.CHANDRASEKARAN Singapore b.1959 Duality 1993 Installation and associated performance Design chiselled into wall, gyprock residue, plaster-covered structures, sand, bricks, steel plates Note: The installation Duality focuses on traditional Indian concepts of art, metaphysics and mysticism. It is composed of a simulated Hindu temple, a symbolic image chiselled into the wall, and a second image on the temple floor, created using the resulting residue.
