The group formed in 1992 as a Queensland– based Indigenous artists network which organises exhibitions, conferences and cultural events. The Campfire Group became an Aboriginal incorporated body in 1995; based at Fireworks Gallery, Brisbane, it seeks to provide further bridges between contemporary Indigenous art practice and the world.
