The APT6 Artists on Tour program enables visiting artists involved in the exhibition to visit regional Queensland centres, conduct workshops and provide talks on their work for local audiences. The APT6 regional program was supported by Flying Arts — an organisation specialising in offering visual art workshops in regional Queensland. Shooshie Sulaiman – Longreach In November 2009, APT6 artist Shooshie Sulaiman visited Longreach in central west Queensland. Sulaiman conducted two workshops — one for the adult art community at the Longreach Arts & Craft Centre and one for senior school students at the Longreach Youth Club. Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan – Cairns, Cooktown, Hopevale and Rossville The second APT6 artist visit was in March 2010 when Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan visited Cairns, Cooktown, Hopevale and Rossville in far north Queensland. The Aquilizans also delivered artist talks and held workshops, including their much-loved In-flight workshop. The APT6 Artists on Tour program was an opportunity for local communities to work closely with contemporary Asian artists and to learn more about the Asia Pacific Triennial. Members of the Longreach and Rossville communities later travelled to see the exhibition in Brisbane. APT6 Artists on Tour
