The Seventh Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art

Santos has enjoyed an association with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) for over 20 years. During this time, we have marvelled at the evolution of the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT) — now a premier cultural event in Australia and the region. In late 2009, we embarked on a five-year partnership with the Gallery. This landmark partnership cemented our commitment to, and support for, the Gallery’s annual summer series of exhibitions and the Children’s Art Centre until 2014. Our first exhibition together was ‘The 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’. It was a tremendous experience joining the APT team as Presenting Sponsor, and sharing in the success of the exhibition and associated programs with our friends at QAGOMA. We are delighted to be Presenting Sponsor of ‘The 7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT7). APT7 showcases the creativity and innovation of our region and offers people the opportunity to come together for cultural exchange and the sharing of ideas. I congratulate the Gallery on the vitality, spectacle and sense of discovery it brings to each Triennial. I also commend the Gallery for its commitment to engage new and diverse audiences through contemporary art, and for extending APT’s reach to regional Queensland through their touring program. Santos supports the arts because of its unique ability to connect with our people, partners and communities throughout Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region. Our partnership with the APT aligns QAGOMA’s innovation and drive with our own values of energy and discovery. MARK MACFARLANE, VICE PRESIDENT, SANTOS GLNG SPONSOR MESSAGE 19
