These have involved children’s impressions of their immediate surroundings, some engaging with contemporary issues such as the future of the natural environment and the effects of war. For Kids’ APT7, selected drawings from previous Kids’ APT artist projects are displayed, including Khadim Ali’s The Bamiyan drawing project 2006, Rich Streitmatter-Tran’s My river, my future: A children’s drawing project 2009 and the children’s drawing project from the DPRK’s Mansudae Art Studio, also 2009. The Gallery also presents Where I live , a collection of drawings created by children and young people living in communities in Papua and Papua New Guinea and facilitated by artists and Gallery curators. The subject of the workshops was the family home, and participating children produced drawings that reveal the surroundings we all have in common, to be shared with children visiting the exhibition as part of APT7’s 20-Year Archive. 277
