Both events gave visitors the exclusive opportunity to view the exhibition after dark, while enjoying the unique surroundings of the Gallery and live music performances. opeNiNg weekeNd APT7 Up Late — One Night Only, on Saturday 8 December, featured five acts across both QAG and GOMA. Brisbane‑based duo Science Project started the night’s entertainment in the Watermall at QAG. The pair brought together cultural influences from the Philippines and the United States in an electronic, reggae‑infused performance. The Family Butchers, a group of Brisbane‑ based musicians, formed especially for APT7 to perform Indonesian artist collective ruangrupa’s songs, as well as covers of songs from the 1970s Brisbane underground music scene. The event closed with a roof‑raising performance by Syrian folk‑pop singer Omar Souleyman, who entertained the crowd with traditional Middle Eastern songs in Kurdish and Arabic. At GOMA, guests enjoyed performances by Brisbane locals Walrii and Tyrone Noonan. Walrii opened the evening with an Asian‑inspired electronic DJ set and ARIA award‑winning musician Tyrone Noonan followed with an easygoing funk‑ and Latin‑ inspired DJ set. CLosiNg weekeNd APT7 Up Late — Celebrate One Last Night was held at GOMA on Friday 12 April. The event featured the premier performance of 100 Million Nights , a collaboration between musical group Canyons and APT7 exhibiting artist Daniel Boyd. The original musical score featured a major, new three‑ panel video installation work by Boyd as the stage backdrop. ‘Up Late gave me a different perspective on APT7.
