Kids' APT - A collaboration

Singer and songwriter Marcel Meltherorong, from the Pacific islands of Vanuatu, invited young visitors to enter a specially designed karaoke booth where they were able to sing and dance to an excerpt of the artist’s song Children’s day . The performance was recorded and then played back so participants could see themselves singing with Marcel on the big screen — just like a music video clip. Almost 19 000 recording sessions were made during the exhibition. Marcel linked his Pacific island home to the birth-place of reggae music in the Caribbean via the rhythms of the ocean lifestyles they shared. Then with my family, it was a serious thrill watching my own kids singing loudly and grooving away in the karaoke reggae recording studio when APT6 opened last year!
