Kids' APT - A collaboration
To create Still life: Coconut and other things , the artist collaborated with many different people from diverse corners of the world. Children in Brisbane took part in a workshop to create still-life arrangements based on fruit and flowers available in Queensland. Photographs of the arrangements were then sent across the world to the artist in Switzerland, who in turn worked with a billboard painter in Iran who produced an enormous painting for display in the Children’s Art Centre. Lots of my friends went to the QAG to find the painting that I helped on. Millie, workshop participant I had a really fun time doing the still life and putting all the fruits and flowers on the table. It was hard to decide which fruits should go on the table to be in the painting and which fruits should be left out. Georgia, workshop participant 41
