Kids' APT - A collaboration
ARTIST WORKSHOPS Where have all the flowers gone? with Shinji Ohmaki Exploring Shinji Ohmaki’s interest in the natural cycles of life and the fragility of flowers, young visitors were invited to select a stencil of commonly found flowers from different parts of the Asia Pacific region, and use coloured sand to create an organic carpet. Throughout the day more flowers sprouted as participants added their own colourful flowers to the carpet. At the end of the day children were invited to walk through the garden, transforming the flowers into a maze of patterns and colour. Overall, it was a great project. I hope we also can have a similar type of project in Japan or other countries. Shinji Ohmaki 57
